Septic rules in Pasco County

Pasco's undated new-system packet charges $255.00 for the application and soil test and $135.00 for the septic permit with final inspection, $390.00 together. A stub-out inspection at $60.00 may be required, usually when a mound system is needed and not with a lift station, and a mound's stabilization inspection is $75.00. The packet adds that additional fees may apply. Environmental Health Services has two offices, at 5640 Main Street in New Port Richey and 13941 15th Street in Dade City.

The packet gives (727) 841-4425 and (352) 521-1450 with option 5, but the web page says option 3 at both numbers. Email goes to PascoEH@FLHealth.gov and mail to 7509 State Road 52, Hudson 34667. Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, Bayonet Point and the rest of Pasco's 13 places over 10,000 people hold 298,435 residents, short of a full count. EPA lists the Pasco County regional water system among those serving Land O' Lakes, at 214,403 people system-wide on purchased surface water, and that listing doesn't show septic use.

Rules and fees change every year, so confirm a line with the health department before you rely on it. "No rule found" means the pages and code we have say nothing on that line, which isn't the same as the county telling you there's no rule. To compare counties, use the county rules lookup.
