Septic rules by state and county

Start with the state page for who licenses pumpers and how the state treats septic code, then your county for permits, sale inspections and fees. We match septic requests by county.

Live now

Every county page names who permits systems, whether an inspection is required at sale, the published fees and what is still open.

The most populous counties

Counties are ranked by population from the U.S. Census. Each county page is written from that county's own health department pages, and where a rule is unconfirmed it says so.
